Error updating locale cisco ip communicator
_______________________________________________ cisco-voip mailing list [email protected]://puck.nether.net/mailman/listinfo/cisco-voip The 220.127.116.110-1 version is known to have a problem with CIPC on CCM 6.1.2.With Vo IP technology growing so rapidly, the marketplace so too has an ever growing selection of hardware options available for system implementations. However, for all their outstanding advantages, configuring these phones to work with a non-Cisco managed Vo IP network can be a bit of a chore. To further complicate this task, the information available on configuring the newer and more user-preferred devices (touch screens, color backlit display, etc.) is extremely sparse and largely unconfirmed.A Cisco 7975 was not available for testing, however, the 79X5 models have standardized configuration templates and the information for these units should apply (We are still trying to acquire one to confirm this).
The problem is if after the install a non-admin logs in, the initial tasks (audio setup, etc) fail. I even tried manually giving the standard user admin equiv permissions on the registry and file system without adding to local admins.
Using a different installation (the corporate CIPC are mass deployed, no access to C: drive etc.) I sort-of managed to switch between French and English partially: right-click menus, splash screen and tooltips appear in french, but the phone screen (softkeys, phone menus, etc.) is still in english.
CSCsu64159 seems somewhat related, though I'll have to wait some time to be allowed to downgrade the locale versions (since it would require a cluster reset etc.) Anybody experienced this or something similar? thanks, Zoltan ---------------------------------------------------------------- This message was sent using IMP, the Internet Messaging Program.
The 18.104.22.1680-1 version is known to have a problem with CIPC on CCM 6.1.2.
This will be fixed in a future version of CIPC to be released early next year.
